Delta Force 2 announced! [03:14:37 EDT] by - Rush
Novalogic has officially announced Delta Force 2,
which should be shipping later this year, according to a company press release,
issued today. Here's a snip:
Slated for a late fall 1999 release, "Delta Force 2'' will
introduce challenging new missions, exciting new gameplay features and NovaLogic's fully
integrated Voice-Over-Net(TM) technology, which allows players to instantly talk to each
other during intense combat. "Delta Force 2'' will also debut the next generation of
NovaLogic's proprietary Voxel Space® 3-D graphics engine which gives players smooth,
crisp and amazingly detailed environments.
In "Delta Force 2,'' players will serve again as members of Delta Force, the U.S.
Army's elite Special Forces unit assigned to dangerous covert missions in hotspots around
the world. "Delta Force 2'' players will take on hostile enemies with lethal and
devastating new weapons and equipment as they work their way through all-new missions and
campaigns.
The company's proprietary Voice-Over-Net technology immerses gamers into "Delta
Force 2's'' virtual battlefield by allowing them to quickly and easily talk to their
teammates to issue warnings or coordinate sneak attacks. Compatible with most sound cards
and microphones, Voice-Over-Net requires little-to-no set-up time.
Be sure to check out Novalogic's
Delta Force 2 page, which has some more info, and one cool screenshot. |

Hidden & Dangerous site updated
[00:00:00 EDT] by - Rush
I saw over at VoodooExtreme that Illusion Softworks has updated their Hidden & Dangerous page with a
great new look and some nice screenshots. Hit the downloads page for 20 screens you can
view, sound clips, movies, and more! Here's how Illusion Softworks describes the game:
"Hidden & Dangerous" is an action/real-time
strategic game, containing a combination of non-traditional features, elements of real
time strategy, action games and partly tactical strategies. Plentiful new features and
stunning true 3D graphics give the game original form and dynamic pace. The story is
imaginative and full of reversals and forces the player to think ahead all the time.
This game has come a long way from when SpecWar first started
reporting on it last year. I'm looking forward to it when it's released towards the end of
May. |

Realistic Ops news [00:00:00
EDT] by - Rush
Computer Games Online has posted a pretty nice article
on the slew of upcoming "Realistic Ops" games, such as Zombie's Spec Ops 2:
Green Berets, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear from RedStorm, and Raven's Soldier of
Fortune among others. (Sorry I'm too lazy to link all the companies and game titles. :) Here's
a bit on Spec Ops 2, and let me tell ya, these features sound awesome!
Still, we get some new weaponry and tools added to the mix, and
some new innovations as well. New weaponry includes bayonets, proximity mines, grenade
launchers, and even a rocket launcher. Tools include wire cutters, booby traps, laser
sites, and flares. The innovations look promising, and they include a new 'stealth mode'
which should allow you to sneak up on your victims. And, with a nod to Thief's gameplay,
you will be able to shoot out light sources as well.
Some of those features are playing catch-up with Delta Force actually (shooting out the
lights, and laser sites..) All in all a good read, so check it out... (and those wire
cutters were my idea! :)
Also, as Cash mentioned, Zombie's
official Spec Ops 2 site has gone online. Great info on the game, so do check it out! |

Another SpecOps 2 preview [00:00:00 EST] by - Rush
Gamer's Depot has a preview of Zombie's upcoming Spec
Ops 2. Here's how they describe the gameplay:
Staying true to the original form, SpecOps2 puts you into some of
the most compelling and engrossing mission campaigns this side of Ranger school. You can
expect this game to not only support multiplayer right out of the box, but to also come
with your favorite mods like, CTF, King of the hill, and team mode. The code for
multiplayer wasn't ready for us to "monkey around" with yet, so we will update
you on that just as soon as we get the chance to go back to Zombie and play it when it's
ready! With the list below of added features these missions should prove to make you soil
your pants over the realism that Zombie has put into these missions.
Def looking good so far! |
