SWAT 4 Single-Player Demo [20:44:45 EST] by ~~ Uziyahu   Comments (0)
The SWAT 4 Single-Player demo is now available at FilePlanet. The A.I. is superb, just as SWAT 3's was in its day. Using the Quick Mission Maker, you can spend hours and hours on this demo's one map. SWAT 4 looks like it will be a highly replayable game for those who find a little CQB action on the PC to be a good way to unwind. Relive the excitement icon38.gif of the SWAT 3: CQB single-player demo by trying out this latest iteration of the SWAT series of hyper-tactical 1st-person shooters.

Elite Warriors update [18:42:49 EST] by ~~ Rushian   Comments (0)
I've added a new banner to the site to pimp nFusion Interactive's next game, Elite Warriors: Vietnam, which is due late March.

nFusion has also put up a mini-website for it. Here's some of what to expect:
* Multiplayer - Three games modes are included: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Cooperative. Every weapon or item in the game can be used in multiplayer, including tear gas, air strikes and more.
* Incredibly detailed 3D jungles using nFusion's latest DirectX9 graphics engine.
* Over 40 3D models that can be used in multiplayer.
* Over 20 realistic Vietnam-era weapons, and more than 10 items that real SOG teams used (all of which can be used in multiplayer).
* In-game Radial menu allows for much easier squad control.
* The RTS-like "Overhead Command Mode" makes giving your squad complex orders a breeze. Hit the assigned key and the camera zooms out, allowing control over the squad with mouse commands similar to an RTS game. [similar to FSW and Brothers in Arms.. - Rush]
* Three camera modes - third person, first person and a zoomed-in over the shoulder view for careful aiming.
And of course "more".. Should be a good one when it gets here.. I've always had great fun with nFusion's games. icon_cool.gif

  • Downtime.. [17:53:09 EST] by ~~ Rushian   Comments (0)
Seems the power supply in the server decided to fry, so the site was down for a little while.

We're back now tho! (ya think?! )

Can't complain really, the thing's been running non-stop for very close to 3 years on this hardware setup.

Thanks as always for stopping by.

*The Regiment info/shots/trailer [20:41:08 EST] by ~~ Rushian   Comments (1)
Haven't seen anything on this in quite some time, but finally WorthPlaying has posted some info and about 30 screenshots from Konami's upcoming CT shooter, The Regiment. Here's a snip:
The Regiment utilises tactics and procedures pioneered by the CRW (Counter Revolutionary Warfare) arm of the S.A.S, and has been designed in close collaboration with ex-staff instructors. Starting with an in-game briefing by John MacAleese - a veteran of the Iranian Embassy Siege - players are dropped straight into each mission. The game play is then focused on action, as players use a simple yet effective ordering system to deploy their colleagues, and use specially selected weapons and hand-to-hand methods to take out the terrorist threats.
Good stuff.. Def check it out and the trailer too.

[Update]: Spotted via Blue's News is that the official Regiment homepage has been updated as well.

*Delta Force: Reloaded [22:40:18 EST] by ~~ Rushian   Comments (0)
EuroGamer tipped me off to a new product page at the Sierra website for Delta Force: Reloaded, which looks to update the original Delta Force with the Novalogic's 'latest game engine'.

    Here's the juice:
    * As a member of the elite Delta Force, re-deploy in over 20 graphically enhanced single-player missions – the best of the best from the original game
    * Additional new single-player missions created especially for Delta Force: Reloaded add a new challenge for hardened Delta Operators
    * Take your friends into battle in over 25* co-operative missions
    * Over 20* multiplayer levels include: Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Team King of the Hill, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag game modes
    * Play in games with up to 32 players online via NovaWorld**
    * STAT tracking – (NEW FEATURE TO DF1) you can now see how good you are compared to every other Delta Force Operator out there and watch your rankings climb as your skills improve!
    * Cheat Crackdown – the new game engine allows for cheaters to be more easily tracked and banned
    * Graphic and assets overhaul immerses you in a more realistic and interactive gaming environment. NEW Weather effects include snow and rain.
Release is currently slated for Spring 2005. Twenty five new co-op missions? I'm there!

[Update]: The game will now be called Delta Force One: Next Gen. Feeling the heat from Matrix Reloaded perhaps? I rather liked the 'reloaded' pun. Ah well.

*Next Conflict game [22:29:08 EST] by ~~ Rushian   Comments (0)
Spotted over at Evil Avatar was a news tidbit that 2K Games (a subsidiary of Take 2) will be publishing the next installment in SCI's Conflict- series, which will be called Conflict: Global Terror. Here's the rip:
Conflict: Global Terror brings the series into the 21st century and joins the war on terrorism in this highly anticipated sequel to the successful franchise which has shipped over 2.5 million units in North America alone. In fall 2005, the original Delta Force members from the Conflict series will return to fight alongside players on console and PC, in a variety of locations around the world where terrorism is present.

SWAT 4 single player demo plans [10:46:45 EST] by ~~ CorporalGeo   Comments (1)
SWAT 4 fan site 10-david has news item on single player demo plans, along with screenshots from the demo from SWAT 4-FR.com. The demo should be available on the major U.S. gaming magazine's demo CDs in April issues (typically hitting newsstands in March or even late February), and online about the same time.

    Some details:
The demo will feature a single player mission and the Quick Mission Maker. The mission will be a rapid deployment to the Victory Imports Auto Center..., the fifth mission in the game's single player. In the mission, SWAT must respond to a barricaded suspects with hostages scenario.

The demo will also feature the game's Quick Mission Maker, which is the new scenario editor for SWAT 4. It allows the creation of new scenarios for the game maps, allowing players to play with the number of suspects and hostages, assign weapons, and tweak the AI morale factor.
