GameSpy Reviews Joint Operations
[18:11:08 EDT] by

Uziyahu
GameSpy has a favourable review of Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising, without making the mistake of looking at the game through Rose-colored glasses. The vehicle integration adds handsomely to the teamwork but the vehicle physics provides some of the game's most glaring glitches. Overall, they're calling it one of the best multiplayer combat experiences recently released. |

Computer & Video Games has posted an interview with Illusion Softworks' team lead Alexander Sila, where he discusses the upcoming H&D 2 ex-pack, Sabre Squadron. Here's the $64,000 question: What's the situation with co-op play? Is this still going to be limited to the expansion pack or are you now also planning to add it to the original Hidden & Dangerous 2 campaign? So we get co-op in the new missions at least. Wish there were more than 9 missions, but I guess we have to take what we can get. The game is set for an October release. Related News |

Conflict: Vietnam preview

In more Vietnam shooter news, C&VG has posted a preview of SCi and Pivotal Games' upcoming game, Conflict: Vietnam, the third in their series of Conflict.. games. Here's a snip to get ya going: When the action hits, it really does hit with ferocity and intensity, combat certainly more visceral in Vietnam than in Desert Storm and Desert Storm II. Firefights are undoubtedly embellished by Pivotal's fleshing out of the characters, dialogue definitely adding a plus in the immersion factor stakes. The small touch of shellshock effects - blurred vision causing disorientation - is a further bonus, as are tracer rounds which whiz back and forth and an ability to use an 'iron sights' view with weapons.Related News

Here's some of the juice: Q: Since Men of Valor is based of off the Vietnam War, should players expect to see that same form of Guerrilla Warfare being used by the AI during the single player campaigns?Sounding good indeed. Bleh! Sorry for the down time. I was away on a business trip and didn't have time to look at the site.. Seems the server is having some kind of hardware problem that I haven't been able to track down yet, as I keep getting lock-ups and task failures on the server. I'm working on fixing the problem.. Stay tuned! [Update]: Ok, I found out its a memory problem. I'll have to get some new DIMMS and swap out the ones in there.. |
